What is Last Minute Folk?

Last Minute Folk Concert Series, presented by Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Topeka, began in 2003. Most concerts are suitable for all ages. Our singer-songwriter musicians perform original music and represent many folk and traditional based music genres including old-timey, blues, Americana, bluegrass; contemporary, traditional, and urban folk and world-inspired to name but a few. Performers are regional and national, and many perform in international venues as well.

The fall 2011 series marked the return of the tradition after a 3-year hiatus and reorganization. This year we are pleased to be cosponsored by Americana Music Academy with locations in Topeka and Lawrence –www.americanamusicacademy.com 

Tickets are $15.00 - available at the door the night of the performance. Spring season tickets for $60.00/five shows including Cary Cooper, are available at the first concert, representing a $12.00 savings.

The Venue

Last Minute Folk is a true listening room, offering exceptional acoustics and concert style seating. The stage and sound system are arranged without restrictions to sightlines, and no seat in the house is more than 40-feet from the stage – adding to the intimacy of the performances. The evening consists of two 45-minute sets of music with an intermission. Refreshments and dessert are available during intermission as well as merchandise sales from musicians.
