“In 18th century France, salons were formal social gatherings driven by discussion, particularly around literature, politics and philosophy.” (alphahistory.com). Here at UUFT, Pagans may not be so formal but the concept of getting down to the nitty gritty on the big issues is the same. What is pagan activism? Is it letting your spirituality inform your position on issues? How do you do that? Is it using focused magic or ritual to create energy toward positive outcomes, and to protect the vulnerable? And how do you do that—does it even work, or is it just wishful thinking? These and other hot topics will surely be on the table when we’re joined by Teri Chambers of the Kansas Witches Political Action Coven. You don’t need to be a pagan to attend; anyone who holds Earth as sacred or is respectfully curious about how to align spirit and politics is welcome.
